Simply put them in your ears when you are ready to fly and Voila, no more noise (these also come in handy in noisy hotels as well).

The second technique to block out the background noise is by means of "noise cancelling headphones". These headphones are designed in such a way that they cover the ear, and enable the user to only listen to the music while blocking out the background noise. You basically cannot hear anything but the music being played and it is quite relaxing.
